Closing Keynote: Makers & Creators Zerlina Maxwell and Amy Ziering

Our Closing Keynote is filled with impressive and bad-ass women who lay their cards on the table.

Amy Ziering is the award-winning filmmaker behind the documentaries “The Hunting Ground” and “Invisible War.” The former addresses sexual assault on college campuses, the latter covers the same harrowing topic, but in the military. Yes, these are tough subjects in which to immerse yourself, but Amy’s work has led to important policy and legislative conversations and, ultimately, change.

Zerlina Maxwell was already an in-demand political analyst when she was tapped to be the Director of Progressive Media for the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. I interviewed her for our Who SheKnows podcast in that capacity and was completely intellectually smitten :) Since the election Zerlina is now the Director of Progressive Programming for SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and she and another former campaign colleague, Jess McIntosh, are rallying the #resistance with her weekly newsletter, “Signal Boost.”

Amy and Zerlina are building lives with meaning, and leveraging every media platform that exists to make sure their work is seen, their voices are heard, and their impact is significant. I can’t wait to get a shot in the arm from hearing this conversation.  It’s the perfect way to send us all back to our laptops, ready to take over the world!
